I had a brother in law from Plano, TX.  Stanford grad, Marine pilot and a really great guy.  But he, like many Texans, had a fixation on the Cowboys.  He once told me that he felt that it was important for America that the Cowboys have a good team.  Well, okay.  I don't know that it's important for America that the 49ers have a good team (or important to Hades that the Raiders have a good team, heh heh) but the Republic should stand regardless.

Just like how it's important for America that the Yankees and Lakers have good teams and how it's important for Canada that the Maple Leafs have a good team. Now excuse me, I have to go barf like a Stanford player doing bear crawls back in 2006.
