Chase Garbers PER went from 120 to 149 from 2018 to 2019, mostly because his YPA went from 4.8 to 8.2, and he cut down his interceptions from 10 to 3, albeit in fewer attempts because of his injury. That would have put him right smack in the middle of Pac-12 QB’s had he enough pass attempts to qualify.
KJ Costello’s rating went from 139 in 2017 to 155 in 2018, which was best in the league that year. The improvement wasn’t as dramatic as Garbers but there was more room for Garbers to improve.
Davis Mills’ rating of 145 this year was the highest base of the three. If he stays healthy and has a decent line, I could see him hitting a PER of 160 next year, which would be good news for the offense.
