Is there any consensus forming around who is going to pull their name out of the transfer portal and remain at Stanford?

Nope.

Has Stanford communicated a "drop dead" date to the players in the portal; e.g., make a decision by x date or there will be no place for you on the football team?

given it looks like there might be 2 scholarships (pending more retirements) and that there are still 12 players in the portal I would guess that Shaw has told the few he wants back that they might have a scholarship next year and told the rest thanks for your contribution
