Witherspoon was definitely getting torched. Good teams pick on him mercilessly. What are the odds that the Niners first pick is a cornerback in the 2020 draft?
Incidentally, the Niners have been consuming their seed corn, with respect to draft picks. In April, they'll just six picks. They have their own first round pick, but all the rest are fifth round or later:
Round 1 (own)
Round 5 (own)
Round 5 (via Broncos in Sanders trade)
Round 6 (own)
Round 7 (own)
Round 7 (via Lions in Eli Harold trade)
Interesting to watch Cousins and Garoppolo go head to head yesterday. The Niners went after Cousins, who didn't want to go to a team with such a long rebuild. And Cousins looked good. IMO, he outplayed Garoppolo; he certainly had a better quarterback rating yesterday. To me, Garoppolo is a top 10 QB, but not a top 5 QB.
Niners play the winner of today's Seattle at Green Bay next Sunday. I'd rather play the Packers. Since 2012, Seattle has a 4-3 advantage over Green Bay. What's interesting is that all seven games were won by the home team. Green Bay is a 4.5 point favorite today.
