Raises an interesting question about four-year-ago admission issues. What if grad students raise their game, academically speaking? If he graduated with a 3.7 from UCLA, would that obviate door #1 issues from high school?
I would be utterly shocked if every single person who got accepted to Stanford grad school would've been accepted to Stanford undergrad. They're pretty different things, a lot of people are a lot more mature/capable at 20 than they were at 16, and as far as I know no grad school on earth gives a shit about what you did in high school.
