I'm not as close to the FB program as I used to be. Was this expected? Did DH start and/or was he projected to start next season? Does this have more to do with a good graduate transfer opportunity than it has to do with DH getting the hell out of dodge?

This was expected, and much more to do with having a great opportunity elsewhere. Hamilton would've likely started at guard here, but he wants to play tackle. That's what he was recruited to play in the first place, and it's the best chance to show his skills to scouts at the next level. He'll also get 2 years to play, which is nearly impossible to swing at Stanford as mentioned earlier. Bonus that Duke is a great school.
