Yeah, both Sanborn and Jones were always going to get scholarships. I do wonder why they did not give them both scholies from the outset, but there must have been some reason for waiting until the football season started. My *guess* is that, in the case of Jones, it was protection against him going pro in baseball or deciding to focus on baseball alone. And my guess, in the case of Sanborn, is also that they wanted to ensure that he was still better than Gracey at the commencement of the season; don't want to spend two scholies on punters.

I understand the rationale for Jones and Sanborn getting scholarships. But they were intially announced as walk-ons and I never saw any announcement that scholarships had been awarded to them. Just trying to close the loop on that.

By the way, speaking of Gracey, he is missing from the spring roster.
