In addition to the issue of the size of the dollars, the league disparities, the fairness in paying the student athletes — I am having difficulty figuring out how Georgia can spend over 3M in a year.
First, you might fly business class, stay in a nice hotel, rent a car, have a nice daily stipend. if you visit 100 recruits (to recruit 25 kids) you’d think that could average like $1,000 per trip. So how is Georgia spending 3.5M+? Even with camps — even if they chartered private jets (!!) I don’t see where all the money goes.
I can’t help wondering if there is money going to payments and/or is being pocketed. Spending $150,000 per commit on incidental travel expenses seems difficult.
