Is Stanford to blame for Colorado losing their coach? We really laid an egg against CU and lost at the end. If a field goal or turnover goes another way, CU finishes 4-8 and I doubt MSU makes the hire.
Somewhat amusing corollary: is Stanford to blame for Chris Petersen retiring? By embarrassingly losing to (a not good) Stanford by multiple scores while ranked, UW ended up with a losing Pac-12 record for the first time since 2015, going 7-5 overall...also their worst overall record since 2015. Fans were pissed and vocal, and booster pressure mounted. (That's what happens when you become good and all the morons in your state who have nothing to do with the school start bandwagoning.) Petersen decided it wasn't worth it to coach anymore.
You could also say UW was just as much - if not slightly more - to blame for Colorado losing their coach...they lost at Colorado too!
