Always liked that guy, including when on his college tour of campuses for ESPN(?) back in the day, Forde had a beverage with a group of die hards (from another board) at the Dutch Goose.

P.S.  The answer (or something that will go a long way toward rectification):  cap on coaching salaries.  Don't know why it should even be controversial.  Any excess $$ saved by not paying coaches (handsomely, but maybe not ridiculously) gets poured back into the institutions' respective general funds.

You cap coaches salaries there will be an arms race in some other dimension.  As long as for a lot of people with $ #itmeansmore, there will be attempts to use those dollars in stupid ways to gain whatever edge they can.
