It’s not about the mortality of the virus in kids, which is in fact very low, but because the kids are a perfect vector for spreading the disease. A kid with mild symptoms goes to school, spreads the virus to all his classmates, who then take it home and infect grandma and grandpa, who are much more susceptible.
