Actually,  the NEJM conclusion on asymptomatic transmission was later questioned by the Washington Post when it was discovered that the original lady did have symptoms. 

I can't read the article, but the "original lady" (aka the index patient) was not who I was talking about. I was focusing on the spread of the virus from "patient 1" to another person, which occurred within one day of patient 1 acquiring the infection. No way patient 1 was symptomatic then.
