I'm currently in graduate school at the University of Maine, which is in a pretty remote location (Orono, near Bangor). Today we learned that after spring break (which begins at the conclusion of classes this week), all classes will be online only for the remainder of the semester. Students who are leaving the area for spring break (whether to visit home or go on vacation) are not supposed to return. I'm in the communication disorders program, and we're in a weird limbo right now because no decision has been made about whether our speech-language clinic will remain open. It's possible that our classes will be online but we'll be expected to resume our clinical work. I'm sure this situation also making things complicated for other students in other programs who are clinicians or researchers. The athletic program has yet to announce if fans will be allowed to attend the tournament games the hockey team is hosting this weekend, but I know that other programs have already determined that they will not be admitting fans.
