It also helps to explain the absence of CDC officials participating in the early days. Just as with China, the desire to control and tamp down information only backfires in the end.

In time of crisis, controlling the information flow seems to be prudent to prevent misinformation from causing panic. I found it intriguing that many news reports cited divisiveness in the White House on how best to proceed. I hope there was. Diversity of thought and opinion is every bit as important as diversity of race, creed, or color. It helps form the best course of action. And with the constant flow of "private" conversations and information flowing from the White House to the MSM a serious concern, what's the harm in classifying the info for the time being?

Oddly, I'm reminded of a quote from a movie I first watched at the ASSU Sunday night flicks, Absence of Malice. From Wilford Brimley:

"You call what's goin' on around here a leak? Boy, the last time there was a leak like this, Noah built hisself a boat. . . .We can't have people go around leaking stuff for their own reasons. It ain't legal. And worse than that, by God it ain't right.
