My sister and I talked this morning and decided the following for our parents in 80s who are in good health for their age:
- She cancelled going to visit them for my mom and niece's birthday tomorrow.
- We urged them to have groceries delivered.
- Don't leave the house for any reason.
Just as an aside. I want everyone to take a moment to realize the fact I first started this thread two weeks ago, on Feb. 27, and appreciate just how fast things have evolved since.
It's almost a metaphor for exponential spread. It slowly built (just last week ComicCon was still on in Seattle and SXSW was still going ahead) before most people took it seriously and then it only took the last 24 hours to have multiple states declare no events over 250 people, and all organized sports in the country to be postponed.
Still a ways to go and a lot of pain to endure. Hopefully this thread prepared everyone for what has come to pass and what may lie ahead. Thank you everyone for contributing to inform and care for our lives, our loved ones, and fellow citizens.
