I hate to admit it, but I actually like Johnson. He’s not a dumbass as he is portrayed, and he does seem to genuinely care about people. The initial pandemic response was weak, but he quickly changed course when it was clearly not going to work. Compare that to some U.S. governors who continually drop the ball without learning much.if anything from their and others’ mistakes.

Anyway, I saw a Dr. interviewed on Sky News who said Johnson is not in ICU because he is PM.  He is in ICU because he condition warrants it. I mean does anyone seriously think Johnson or his advisors want him ICU of it can at all be avoided? Not a chance. The fact he is there tells you how serious his condition is.

I didn't agree with his policies on Brexit (though as a non-Brit, this is not really my business), and he is a bit of an opportunist, but I agree, there is something... charming about him.

I thought this commercial for the recent election (a parody of Love Actually) was brilliant.

Yeah, the commercial was terrific. It had additional impact by the absolutely humorless reaction of the British establishment.

I don't know enough about Brexit to have a right to an opinion. I do know the British public has signaled its determination to leave in every way possible. It's a mandate that should be respected, and apparently is being so, after a long period of whining and disbelief.
