For lots of reasons, glad to see BoJo is on the mend. And I assume his experience will categorically put to rest the "this is just the flu" counterarguments? He had staked out a fairly strong "let's not overreact" position, so he had zero to gain politically from being admitted to hospital with this, let alone the ICU. I'm assuming he waited to be admitted until his life was literally at risk if he didn't.
In my living memory, I cannot recall an elected leader of a developed country needing to be admitted to the ICU due to the flu. Given all this, I think it's safe to assume this is at least an order of magnitude worse than the flu. Scary to think that even the rosiest (realistic) herd immunity projections suggest less than 10% of Western Europe and North America has been exposed to this.
