I've seen some speculation that Zinc should be used in combo with HCQ because Zinc helps open pathways for HCQ to get into virus cells.  

Don't know anything about that, although ACE2 is a zinc-containing metalloenzyme. I only remember seeing that increased intracellular levels of zinc inhibits RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (i.e., viral genome replication).
