I start out my day with Facebook and Twitter. I know this does not reflect well on my ability to prioritize my mental health or my personal schedule. I see the conspiracies and the hand waiving and the burrowing of heads in the sand and I get angry. Frustrated. I might check this board for a sanity check to remind myself that not everyone is blindly repeating what their dear leader or media outlet tells them they should think. Then I try to work. But I come back over and over again throughout the day. By the evening I get into arguments with facebook friends or random people on twitter who are spreading dangerous and unfounded claims, only to realize that it is now the middle of the night and I haven't convinced anyone of anything and that I am losing sleep and failed to complete all the real work I needed to get done that day. Then I down a cold brew coffee to take the edge off (ran out of alcohol so I work with what I got), and then try to go to sleep. But I just drank coffee so I can't fall asleep. So I lay in my bed with my phone scrolling and getting angry. Then I fall asleep.
The next morning I do it all over again.
But don't worry, starting tomorrow I am going to avoid facebook and twitter and actually get some work done.
