I'm with BC, for everyday use I'm not touching anything that someone else may have touched recently (I suppose unless I get tremendously unlucky and someone else has just touched the tree branch I grabbed for balance in the creek) so I don't worry about it. This is just a random stretchy cloth thing my mom sent us unannounced, not an N95 or anything. If I'm going to the grocery store or another place where touching shared surfaces is unavoidable then I wear gloves and don't touch anything on myself with my hands.
It's a good point about the bank, but I'm not really sure if there's any way around it. Maybe Asian countries where masks are more common have a procedure for this, I have no idea. (I also couldn't tell you the last time I set foot in a bank, fwiw.)
