a minor correction: I don't think a global agreement has been reached, it's still being debated. See, e.g., the NIH Director's comments in November. And the main issue applies to moratorium on human germline use for embryo implantation, not to all use of CRISPR technology which is still being used extensively for biological research and to develop human somatic applications. The cited article says there are 19 current human clinical trials that use CRISPR for (somatic) gene editing.
