It's not surprising that almost no one says they've actually seen a COVID party. When we were in camp and the counselors started asking around about booze in the camp, none of us had seen anything either. Sometimes hard to spit that denial out believably while nursing a hangover. A deathbed confession of having gone to a COVID party seems like about as good evidence as you're likely to get of the existence of at least one such party. Seems unlikely that it's the only one.
