The Big Ten is canceling their football season. Which means there is absolutely no chance of a college football season this fall. Which means there is no college sports this fall or winter.

Woo Hoo!! Another thing to blame on Trump, right guys?  [It's hard not to read some posts through that filter . . .].

"Woo hoo" like hell. This is a terrible loss for all and no sane person cheers it.

But blame Trump? Yes, damn right I do. I blame him with the vehemence that Jack Nicholson's character admitted to ordering the code red. Him and his enablers. Our performance as a nation is atrocious and — although there are other factors as well, of course — it's mainly because of leadership that purposely divided the nation during a crisis. 

• In March he took to the airwaves to play it down, blame it on his detractors. Remember that? Unity in a crisis? Exactly the opposite.
  
• The mismanagement, the lies ... Kushner in charge of PPE and testing? National test and trace? Not a chance ... Trump just declares himself the best ever, but nothing happens. Except more and more division as he continues to ooze toxin from the bully pulpit. He's so bad that his cultists blame the press for reporting it, as if it's all imagined.
  
• April, May, June, continued attacks on political opponents, misinformation. The enormity of politicizing masks! He did that! Remember his "liberate" tweets promoting armed insurrection in two states. He made masks a political statement. Tulsa? The boondoggles like Kodak? Still no test and trace, no national plan, nothing but venom from our president.
  
• July, August, still no national plan, still no call for unity, more division, more venom from the top. Now it's all about blaming China. He pushes aside experts to take the podium himself, again, deciding to open schools, for example.
  

Is the above some anti-Trump fake news, the mainstream press lying? Hell no. We all saw it happen live on TV for months, and we still see it, every day, again. The press isn't responsible what he says and does and doesn't do. They are the messenger. He and his enablers are responsible. And the result is total failure with the pandemic as  bad today as it's been, and getting worse. Even six months into it. Testing? Test and trace? Masks? Nah, just politics and division.

When does it end? New Zealand is down to no cases. Our covid deaths per capita in early August are fourth worse in the world, behind Mexico, Brazil, and South Africa. Our 22+ per million compare to 6 per million in the fifth worst country, UK; and less than 1 per million in Germany, France, etc.

Are we that incompetent as a nation? Hell no! We have a low-IQ corrupt malignant narcissist sewing hatred and division from the top.
