I wonder if Men's Basketball Recruiting efforts (and success) has had an impact on Shaw's thinking/approach to recruiting?

MBB doesn't offer that many guys either. Haase and his assistants, however, are known as very good relationship-builders and put in a ton of effort identifying, offering, and recruiting a few guys HARD early (Isa Silva, Ziaire Williams, and KZ Okpala are all examples of this) and generally keeping tabs on a wide array of prospects to possibly offer later (Spencer Jones an absolute gem of an example, and '20 late signee Michael O'Connell looks promising). From what (little) I know, this "ton of effort" has not been echoed by the football staff and the head man. Maybe that's changing, who knows.

MBB also has the luxury of only needing to sign 3-5 guys per class, versus football's 18-22. And signing just one super-stud per class is enough to make the whole class look good, versus in football needing a bunch more higher-end commits to have the same appealing effect.
