The NYTimes had an article on the (un)likelihood of college football this fall.  My job dropped at this stat:
“Also, uncertainties remain about residual effects of the coronavirus — particularly myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart that contributed to the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences’ decisions not to play football this fall. A cardiologist at Ohio State is nearing publication of a study in which nearly 15 percent of athletes who contracted the virus showed signs of myocarditis when tested with a cardiac M.R.I.“

15 percent of covid-positive athletes showed signs of myocarditis on an MRI!!!

I wonder if the Big 10 got an early peek at this upcoming paper since the researcher works at The Ohio State. 

Even more scandalous, I wonder if the SEC and Big 12 also had early access to this data, and proceeded anyway.

Aren't there reasons for pause before embracing the import of the 15% statement you do so fully, including comments from doctors here?  
Someone here said very little is known about myocarditis; thus, I find the phrase "signs of myocarditis" pretty vague. 
Again, would appreciate commentary from the docs in these parts.

I don't mean to belittle the medical fallout from the virus, but I also think it important to read articles critically and with an understanding of exactly what is being said (and not being said).
