Not sure why he wouldn't want to play this fall. He's on campus already for classes and already redshirted. Would he have two years of eligibility if he grad transferred? Can't remember the rules regarding using up eligibility this year.

He might be playing this fall; the grad transfer will be "at the conclusion of the winter quarter." I believe since this year doesn't count against eligibility for anyone, he'll have 2 years to play somewhere (my guess is he's hoping for a scholarship at a lower-level school). 

Also notable, I'm pretty sure the 85-scholarship limit will remain. Could get interesting.
