Of course there is no bigger idiot than the VPOTUS. The POTUS is in the hospital in serious condition. As the next in-line the VPOTUS should be in Washington ready to take over if need be, not flying around the country doing campaign events. Not to mention, he should be quarantining anyway due to his contacts at the super spread event at Rose Garden.
And, even if he hasn't taken over for POTUS, he should have addressed the nation to assure everyone the government will function no matter what happens, and lay out the chains succession in a calm and measured way. Just another log thrown on the conflagration of incompetence by the current White House management.
I typically agree with you but boy do I disagree with you here. VPOTUS is not an idiot. He knows that if he showed any willingness to prepare for Trump's death that Trump would fire him. He has to loyally bide his time to appease his dear leader in order to stay in his good graces. He knows that if Trump dies that that will be his moment. But not a moment sooner. It's not about the country, it is about the Trump brand, and then it is about him.
This mentality is manifestly why we are in the disaster we are in. People treat the POTUS like a spoiled child and indulge his every whim, and or fear for their own asses over the interest of the country to enable him at every turn. It's just sickening to see a 74 year old child man ripping apart every last edifice of best practice governance, and how many people allow him to do it with impunity.
Pence speaking to the country to tell us how things work would be prudent. No, I would never in a billion years vote for him, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a responsibility to make sure the American people are informed and that he and the administration are following proper procedures. Dexamethasone is known to impair judgement and cause psychotic episodes from what I have gathered. Not speaking to us tells us the POTUS matter more than the country he is suppose to lead. That is not only wrong, but dangerous.
You know quite well that the number one qualification to being on Trump's team is to be a sycophant. By all means, it is worth attacking these character for their lack of character, but let's not act surprised when they do what they do. Just because they should do something doesn't mean they will, and that's what we've all seen from Trump's team from day one. That's why this entire administration is dangerous and why we cannot really know what happens if Trump goes down.
