One benefit of the 9 am kickoff on Fox is that USC-ASU highlights were splashed on TV screens throughout the day. It helped, of course, that the game had a big name with an improbable, disastrous, car-wreck ending.

Pac-12 After Dark is fun for those of us on the West coast, but few East of the Rockies are paying attention because they are asleep when the games are played. Plus, they don't even pay attention to the highlights when they wake up Sunday morning, because they've turned their focus to the NFL.

I think it's worth trying more 9 am/10 am games this year with teams that have a (remote) chance at making the playoff, i.e. USC and Oregon. It's not that hard of an adjustment for the players, many who are up by 6 am to workout/practice anyway.

This season we only have a few weekends left to schedule out for this season.   Oregon v Washington is the only game that would really be of any interest to those outside of the Pac-12.   I guess Oregon could play every game at 9AM since that is the team college football fans in other conferences fear might take a slot, but if they play at 1PM or 4PM Pacific time that will give them the exposure the Pac-12 needs.

In future years, the best teams will not be at 9AM because the best teams get assigned to those preferred Pac-12 broadcasting slots.
