With today's 1346 deaths, the seven day average for deaths just crossed 1000/day, up from a trough of about 700.  The thing is that deaths are a lagging indicator, and there is no evidence that the leading indicators (new cases or hospitalizations) are slowing down, so we are probably looking at daily deaths moving past the 1500/day mark in the next couple weeks.
