Ummm... Stanford probably could do that too since Santa Clara County is at least as strict as Alameda County.

To be honest, I am not that worried about COVID impacting Stanford football since there is not that much at stake now.   I am more worried about that one or more of Stanford's eight teams defending NCAA team titles could be forced to forfeit during their tournaments or the tournaments are cancelled.   Ultimately getting us to a place where the NCAA team title streak ends.
