And honestly, this is the sort of thing that is going to be most difficult to try to prevent.  It's one thing to close bars and restaurants.  It's another to restrict people from having friends over.  The best approach is probably going to be educating people and doing a public awareness campaign and hoping for the best.  If you try to issue an public health edict, it will go over like a lead balloon.

While you may be correct that it will go over like a lead balloon, it may be the only way. Education isn't going to work. People know what the situation is. They just don't believe their Thanksgiving dinner with 30 people can possibly be an issue. As long as they believe they have a choice, that won't change. I do however doubt that there are many politicians who will even consider enforcement, and as long as that is so, we are well and truely doomed IMHO.
