But there are two games scheduled before the next poll comes out on Monday.  We have to win both those games to be ranked #1.

Should be #1 next poll.  South Carolina lost to NC State.

We still have to beat UNLV and Washington.

The short answer is "not yet."  Tara's post-game presser was very good, as usual.  Coach is very cognizant of health concerns in society at large, what is important in the grand scheme of things, etc.  She even specifically mentioned wanting to comply with SCC regulations.  But what stood out to me in Tara's presser was the simple, yet pretty powerful comment:  "We just want to play games."  I think as we all pontificate on what society should and shouldn't do, we lose sight of the real benefit of competition to the players - and to be perfectly frank, the fans.  I have loved watching every minute of Stanford college hoops this season, even in blowout Ws (the women) and losses (men have had a couple).  It provides real - even if intangible - benefits. Ditto the football team.  

Was hoping Davis might follow UW's lead and take a roadie to UNLV to play Stanford, but per Bob, that is unlikely to happen.  I'm sure Tara & Co. are burning up the phone lines trying to schedule games.  (New Mexico?  UTSA?  Anyone?).  It was interesting to see Tara pitch Sin City "Come to Vegas everyone.  It's great and safe."  (Paraphrasing, though Tara noted that the town is not crowded at all).

I sure hope one or two more teams can make their way to UNLV for a game against the #1 team in the nation.  Really, there is no downside to those teams from the competition (other than cost to get there) - and plenty of competitive upside.
