I have no doubt that, if the Huskies are not in the CCG, they will be playing the Apple Cup against WSU. Of course, that would mean two South Division teams would have to play, and I would assume that would be a make-up for somebody who didn't play ASU. My question is whether the Pac-12 will be smart enough to schedule in such a way to try to optimize the number of teams who would become bowl-eligible with a victory. For instance, matching up two 2-3 teams so that one of them gets to .500. Maybe that's not important in a year when we have only 4(?) guaranteed slots? Three of those already seem to be spoken for: North Champ, USC, and CU, right?

You could match up Colorado and USC, as both teams are undefeated.

That’s the matchup that should have happened this week, instead of USC-UCLA and COLO-UTAH.   It’s sort of impossible for that to happen next week because either USC or Colorado will be the South champion and playing in the CCG.
