The Utah AD cited not taking team to the NCAA Tournament since 2018 as one key reason for the departure.

I hope he didn't cite that since Utah didn't go to the NCAA Tournament in 2018. They haven't been since 2016.

Utah went to the NCAA tournament twice in KrystKowiak's 10 seasons, 2015 and 2016.
During the five middle years of his tenure Utah finished second twice, third twice, and fourth once.
But, other years were eighth three times, tenth and eleventh.

Whether this is good for Utah or not depends on whether whomever the next guy is does better. Simply firing your coach every few years doesn't get you anywhere.
