Jim Boeheim is/was the Anti-Monty. Saves his teams' fuel for the Real Season, year after year. The one that begins in March and ends just before the Masters.

In more ways than just one. Never met Monty, but heard good things. Met Boeheim on multiple occasions, a world class jerk.

I played golf with JB in Phoenix when my son was at Syracuse (class of '01). Seemed like an OK guy. Can't say the same about Montgomery in my experience, however, on or off the course. I just know that a big difference is that one guy's teams played better in March than other guy's.
