Don't baseball players go straight from college to the minors?

The players plan ahead to ensure they can graduate in the winter so that they play in the spring.  Football players who enter the draft generally do the same.  Although they don't have to report immediately, most will graduate before spring quarter to be able to focus on the draft spring quarter.

I just think it is rough for these young women to play a full season of basketball and then go right into another season without a rest. Doesn't seem right. Baseball I can see. If they tried to make football players do the same that'd be obscene.
