I remember talking with one of the DBs on San Jose State when they lost to Alabama 48-3.  Prior to their departure for 'Bama, he was convinced that SJSU could beat the Crimson Tide.  I expressed an opposite opinion.  He couldn't believe it.

While I totally agree that the number of guys that have no shot at all and yet think they have NFL potential is way, way too large, believing you can win any given game is a different beast IMHO. If you go out there expecting to lose, you will. Coaches do a lot of psyching up players to get them to believe they can win every game they play. A player who admits otherwise, even if it is a fully rational opinion, would be considered some kind of "traitor". I am not surprised at all the SJSU DB thought they could win. Otherwise, why bother?
