SF needed that deep fly to the wall the batter before (with runner on third). Instead, it's a pop out.
Another (frustrating) example of inability to manufacture runs. (And if we're being honest, SF's last run was a complete gift from St. Louis).
Still, I like the battle till the end. I just wish they'd score more runs when they "should" (i.e., runner on second with no outs; runner on third with less than 2 outs).
I think if you go number hunting across baseball, you will find the Giants are far from alone. Situational hitting is not valued. It’s all about the launch angle.
Giants may be a bit worse than average. Not sure. I do know they are scoring about half their runs as a result of HR’s. They lead the lead in that category. Double edge sword in my way of thinking.
