Call me a snob or realist but anyone who chooses Louisville was never a true Stanford candidate.

Let's go with snob. I think we really need to cut down on the elitism on this board.  Jameis Winston did get accepted as a valedictorian and chose FSU after all (character issues later notwithstanding).

A guy who's heard you went to Stanford tells you he got accepted at Stanford but went to Louisville instead.
Your reaction is, "I get that, good choice"?

Absolutely, if that’s what they feel best for them. We all live our own lives and are not in other people’s shoes.  If somebody was accepted to Stanford and had it as an option, I’d assume they’re at least somewhat intelligent. Given that, they deserve the respect to be able to make their own decision on what’s the best path forward for themself, not criticism. Success and happiness are not the same for all, and it’s nobody’s place to tell somebody else what should fulfill them in those regards.
