THIS was the most salient complaint to me: "I’ve heard complaints from his coaches at every level about his work habits." If true (and I don't know why it wouldn't be) that would explain a lot.
I continue to split the blame 50/50 between Zaire and the staff, and it's really too bad for all of them.
You can't blame Zaire for the major family issues he had to deal with during the season, or Covid. But I would say if you took the family issues, Covid, and a perhaps a less than serious approach to the game, then maybe you get what we got. We will never know what we would have had if he had been able to play the entire season and Covid was not an issue.
