I can't speak for others but arguments over playoff rosters and deep dives in the post-season as the measure of 2021 success feel like expectation drift and goal post moving.

The Giants 2021 season has been the most fun since the surprising (and tortuous!) 2012 World series. The Giants have far exceeded my pre-season expectations, think of of 2021 as a satisfying steak meal we are already enjoying.  A deep playoff push would be a post-meal ice cream sundae with whipped cream, and a World Series appearance the cherry on top. 

I LIKE ice cream so bring back that whole 2012 sundae but should the team lose in the first round I'm still satisfied with my regular season steak. Why wouldn't I be? I was expecting 2021 to be a cold fast food burger.

Take a deep breath, Go Giants and enjoy the pennant race.
