Does anyone really enjoy picking against your own team just to get more points on a fan message board?  Against the alma mater for most of you?  

No money is on the line here, and I have no pride in trying to win this contest.  You will be getting an extremely irrational pick from me.  Maybe I'll go with 24-23, just for old times' sake.  

And if the season continues to get worse, I'll probably bail from the contest but not from the team.  But you guys have your fun, picking us to get blown out.  I won't judge, I just don't enjoy it.

I never enjoy picking against my team.  I always look for reasons to bolster my confidence in a Cardinal win.  But sometimes you simply have to accept reality; and right now, there are not a lot of data points suggesting we will beat the Trojans in the coliseum.  It could happen (Pritchard, Sherman and Co. in 2007), but pure reason dictates that it will not.  If you are predicting, you go with the data, not your hopes or emotions.  Every time I pick against the Cardinal, I hope that I am wrong.  I could not care less about winning this prediction contest.  If I am dead last and we get an NY6 bowl bid, that is a good result.
