Take it with three grains of salt, but a former colleague who knows the Rice family well thinks it's actually more likely Kiki chooses Stanford than Duke. They were surprised when I reported that the Stanford faithful were sour on our prospects for her commitment. So a reason not to give up all hope yet! 

ETA: And a few more thoughts that may be of interest here.

This is why we have reason to think Stanford might still be in the race, despite indications on social media (a while ago) that Stanford no longer was.  In addition, since that post, Rice cut one school from her list (Maryland), which wasn't Stanford.  If Stanford were truly out of contention, wouldn't she have taken the opportunity to trim her list further?
