I know. My point is we didn't have a real hope that year either....
Our only loss that year was against Oregon; we went 12-0 against teams not named Oregon, and ended the year on a tear. I think we would have beaten Auburn that year.

Yeah, we will definitely hear about it. If you go to that tweet, the majority of the replys think it was a bogus call, or that it was "technically" the right call, but that it shouldn't have resulted in an ejection. Ultimately, players need to learn at the very least not to leave their feet when they are going in for a tackle, and to keep their heads up, instead of leading with the crown.
It definitely sucks to lose a player when the hit is not "malicious" (and I don't think this was), but the only way you are going to get players to play safer is to make the penalty harsh.
Fortunately, Oregon plays Cal next week, and even Cristobal without Thibodeaux for a half can't blow it. Can he?
