Sure is. Probably a record number of false start penalties.
In the post-game presser, Shaw intimated that the Oregon defense was calling “disconcerting signals” while McKee was checking off, leading to the false starts. In the video highlights, I noticed that on the slant to Humphries, both lines came up out of their stances and froze, seeming to expect a whistle to be blown before McKee rifled the pass. Shaw said he was “animated” on the sidelines, upset by the tactics, and will bring it up with the Rules Committee.
Oregon was cheap and dirty the entire game. That blindside helmet to helmet decapitation of Gilman should have been an ejection. There was another play in which someone went out of bounds and after the play was dead an Oregon player literally lifted a Stanford player off the ground and body slammed him. No flag! There were several other blatant examples.
And it’s been this way ever since they cold-cocked Owusu in Eugene.
