Stanford ‘22 safety commit Colin Wright had a 60-yd punt return for a TD and a 40 yard kick return on Friday. This class doesn’t have a ton of speed, but those returns are a good sign. Unlike most football recruits who participate in track during the off-season, Wright is not a sprinter, but he does have a time of 2:09 in the 800, which I think is pretty good. Edit: His hudl film has a bunch of plays where he chases down runners from behind, reminiscent of Devon Carrington’s great play on Marcus Mariotta (though I’m guessing the guys on this hudl video are not Mariotta fast).
