How many people now claim to have been there in Sacramento that night? I do, and I was there. I wonder if that's the only Stanford WBB play that was ever #1 on ESPN's 10 ten plays that night on Sports Channel. What a thrill to see it so recognized.
I'm from a small town in Indiana without really any college history from my family (except that Notre Dame is in the town over and everybody had blue and gold in all their houses). I told my parents when I was 6 I was going to go to Stanford because I read about it in a book. It never waivered, and I did end up there. So, I think every child is different in knowing what they want. I think if not ready, they just choose not to accept an offer until ready. But not sure I really agree its irresponsible to offer them.
