Luke Fickell (head coach at Cincinnati) already makes $3.4 million a year and has ties to the BigTen (Ohio State), so I could see him becoming the next Nebraska coach or maybe an SEC wannabe.
Chris Petersen (former Washington head coach): if he really resigned due to feeling excessive pressure at Washington, maybe he’d do better at Stanford?
Kyle Wittingham (Utah head coach): he’d be a fool to leave Utah, but I like and respect him, and he is a great coach (as was evident last night against ASU)
I think all three would be in the category of “keep dreaming”

Fickell isn’t going anywhere. He is on the verge on reaching the CFP with a G5 program and will soon join a P5 conference that is losing its two premier teams. That gives him a clear path to consistent success at the highest level of the game. Why go elsewhere and start from scratch?
Whittingham would have to move from Utah where he is close to his true passion - skiing.
Petersen - now, you are on to a possibility….
The allure of Chris Petersen eludes me. Recruiting-wise, in six years at UW he had his pick of the crème de la crème, appeared in one Rose Bowl and lost (see also the much heralded "Kyle Whittingam", who has yet to lead his team to Pasadena on New Years Day after how many years?). BP's a top-notch coach, absolutely but it turned out that the pressure was too much. This is what you want?
Life is too short to waste on crap football.
