Folkl still might be the best Stanford athlete ever . . . she has to be in the conversation, anyway - uber elite VB and hoopster. Elway, Toi, Dotterer, Paye . . . Veris (how good was he in field events in track at Stanford?).
Am sure there are others I'm missing. But in my lifetime, the most elite 2-sport Stanford athletes that I can think of are Elway, Folkl, and Cook.
I had to laugh at the comment about Tara being “at the stage of her career” to not be interested in a two-sport athlete. I’m pretty sure she was at that stage decades ago, given the way she handled Folkl, who, IMHO, would have led us to a Title if she’d only been allowed to play more…
