There are 59 scholarship freshmen, sophomores, or juniors on the roster, of which only Kyu Blu Kelly is at any risk for an early departure. That leaves up to 26 scholarships available (since we now apparently do occasionally do early enrollment and 1 player could enroll counting to the 2021 limit).
In practice, I think we would take the following players back, assuming they didn't declare for the NFL (Booker) or decide they were done with football or enter the transfer portal: Michael Wilson, Brycen Tremayne, Thomas Booker, Ricky Miezan, Jacob Magnum-Farrar, Kendall Williamson.
That could potentially get us down to 20 scholarship spots if everyone comes back, or 22 if Kelly and Booker go pro. Our class is currently at 20, would be 21 with Bailey and 22 with Bailey plus a WR. Bob can probably remind me if LDS missions (either returning from the class of 2020 or going out) will affect that math.
To me the question is not whether a 4th DL will mean we have to sacrifice a wide receiver in the class of 22; the question is whether if everyone wants to come back, and if they do, whether we would tell them sorry, we are full.

Just checking the math/phrasing here.
When you write, "That leaves up to 26 scholarships available" you mean at least 26 scholarships available (85-59) which could become 27 (1 early enrollment spot) or 28 (Kelly leaving). Yes?
I assume the 59 does not include Pakola, as he is not on the roster at the moment. But he is a Junior I think (?).
The numbers are tight, with 20 verbals, 1 LDS returnee, 6 we'd like back, and possibly Pakola. Kelly returning would put us over the limit - however there is always attrition somewhere. Very good chance someone in the 59 isn't on the team next year. And of course the 6 we'd most like back aren't likely to all return.
It appears that this year we will be filling our scholarship slots.
I meant that although 85-59 = 26, I thought there was still a scholarship limit of 25 per year, and so if none of the seniors came back, and we wanted to fill our scholarships, then we would have to enroll one early. But it was a bit more of an academic question, since some players will be back.
